Rizza The Rat’s Testimony

In 1993, during the hearing of Harry Aleman vs. Anthony Reitinger case held in the judge’s courtroom in the old Criminal Courthouse on 26th Street and California, Rizza testified against Aleman. In his testimony, Rizza revealed that he had been in the Federal Witness Protection Program since the 1980s. He also testified that Harry Aleman had vowed to kill Reitinger, calling him on Halloween night to confirm that the job had been done.

Anthony Reitinger had been found dead in a “mysterious manner.” The federal government had been holding suspects, but there were very few witnesses for the murder case. This made the charges pressed against the suspects were weak, since the prosecution didn't have any substantial evidence. This is why Vincent's testimony was so important to the case. He was the only insider who was willing to testify against Aleman in open court to help get him convicted.

Recently, Rizza admitted that he was a frequent cocaine user during the 1970s. He also admitted to committing perjury while serving as a Chicago police officer and in a federal criminal drug case.
